Creating a modem dial-up connection in Windows XP

After your computer recognizes the device as a modem, create a new modem dial- up connection on your PC. You can use this connection to dial up and connect to the Internet.

1.On your computer, click Start > Control Panel.

2.Double-clickNetwork Connections.

3.On the left panel of the Network Connections window, click Create a new connection, and then click Next.

4.Select Connect to the Internet, and then click Next.

5.Select Set up my connection manually, and then click Next.

6.Select Connect using a dial-up modem, and then click Next.

7.Enter a name for the connection, and then click Next.

8.Enter the phone number supplied by your mobile operator, and then click Next.

9.Select who can use the connection, and then click Next.

10.Enter the phone number supplied by your mobile operator, and then click Next.

11.Enter the user name and password supplied by your mobile operator. If you do not want this dial-up connection to be the default on your PC, clear the Make this the default Internet connection check box.

12.Click Next, and then click Finish. The Connect [your connection name] dialog box is displayed. If you do not want to connect immediately, click Cancel.
