Setting up/Operation

Setting up/Operation

Position grinder on the working area. Make sure there are diamonds underneath machine and that the head locks/shear pins are tight.

IMPORTANT!

When using the machine, each grinding head must always have the same diamond type and number of diamonds as the other grinding heads. Each grinding head must have diamonds the same height as the other grinding heads.

Adjust rubber skirt so that a good seal is established between the floor and head of machine (see picture below). Ensure join in skirt is at the front of the ma- chine. Setting of the skirt is essential to obtain good dust extraction and eliminate the possibility of airborne dust when dry grinding.

Set handle to most comfortable working height using adjustment lever.

IMPORTANT!

It is recommended that this height be set as close as possible to the height of the opera- tors hip bone.

When the machine is running, there will be a grind- ing force/pull to one side that can be felt through the handlebars. Use the hip to resist this force instead of trying to control this through the arms (such positioning will be much easier for the operator using the machine over prolonged periods of time).

Powering up machine

i. Ensure the STOP/RUN switch is set on STOP (rotate counter clockwise).

ii.Plug power supply to machine. Only turn power on

at

plug once fully connected.

iii.Disengage Emergency Stop button (twist clock- wise).

iv.Depress Power button. On doing so, a soft “clunk” should be heard to come from within the electrical cab- inet. This indicates the line contactors have engaged, supplying power to the drives/frequency converters.

Setting Speed and direction

On the control panel there is a FORWARD/REVERSE and Speed dial knob. Generally, when starting the machine for the first time on any given application, it is advised the speed setting should not exceed 7, initially.

When the operator is comfortable with the application, speed may be increased.

IMPORTANT!

It is important to note the following when using the Husqvarna PG 530 single-phase grinder:

Increasing the speed will also increase the current being drawn by the machine.

If on some applications the machine is draw- ing too much current and tripping current limiting switches, the speed of the machine must be reduced to compensate.

Low voltage supplies to the grinder may re- sult in poor performance (reduced speed and torque) of the machine.

Factors which may contribute to low voltage supply to the machine include the following:

-Poor mains power supply (below 220V).

-Working off a generator.

-Using light duty power leads (power leads with at least 2.5mm cores are highly recom- mended).

-Using more than 20m (65ft) long power lead.

PG530 specifications

The Husqvarna PG530 is a powerful and versatile floor grinding machine designed for professional contractors and heavy-duty applications. This equipment is ideal for preparing and finishing various types of surfaces, including concrete, terrazzo, and natural stone. Built with advanced technologies and rugged construction, the PG530 stands out in the market for its reliability and performance.

One of the key features of the Husqvarna PG530 is its unique three-disc design, which provides efficient grinding performance. The three grinding heads allow for better distribution of weight and improved balance, ensuring an even grind across the floor. With a wide grinding width of 21 inches, the PG530 can cover large surface areas quickly, making it an efficient choice for both small projects and larger commercial jobs.

The machine is powered by a robust 15 HP motor, delivering ample power to tackle tough grinding tasks. It also features adjustable grinding pressure, allowing users to optimize the pressure according to the specific requirements of the job. This adaptability makes the PG530 suitable for a wide range of applications, from light surface preparation to heavy-duty grinding and polishing.

Additionally, the PG530 is equipped with Husqvarna's patented Dual Drive Technology. This innovative system provides independent speed control for both the grinding heads and the machine's forward movement. This capability allows operators to adjust the speed of the grinding discs while controlling the speed of the machine itself, resulting in enhanced flexibility and control during operation.

The machine is designed with user comfort in mind. Its ergonomic handle and adjustable working height make it easy to operate for extended periods without causing fatigue. The PG530 is also fitted with an integrated dust collection system, helping to maintain a clean working environment by minimizing dust and debris. This feature is essential for safety and compliance with health regulations.

In terms of usability, the PG530 is easy to transport and set up, making it a practical choice for contractors on the go. Its compact footprint ensures that it can maneuver in tight spaces, while the folding handle allows for easy storage.

Overall, the Husqvarna PG530 combines powerful performance, innovative technology, and user-friendly design to meet the demands of flooring professionals. Whether for surface preparation, grinding, or polishing, the PG530 is a reliable tool that enhances productivity and delivers superior results.
