IBM System i models are capable, when used in accordance with IBM's associated documentation, of satisfying the applicable requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, provided that any assistive technology used with the product properly interoperates with it.

Product positioning

The model 525 hardware is physically identical to the 1.9 GHz 1/2-way model 520. The memory maximum, I/O maximums, available I/O features, and Capacity on Demand capabilities are the same. All 525 systems have full 5250 OLTP capability and do not use Enterprise Enablement features.

The model 525 Express Configurations have the same upgrade paths from the 810/520 as the 1/2-way 520 Enterprise Edition. Upgrades into the 525 CBU Configuration from model 520 CBU editions are supported. Upgrades from model 810 to a 525 CBU configuration are not available. The software tier of the model 525 is P10, compared to the model 520 software tier of P10 and the 520 1/2-way software tier of P20.

The primary difference between the model 525 and the model 520 1/2-way is the licensing of i5/OS user entitlements. The model 525 includes i5/OS entitlements for a minimum of 30
