Overview

The System i™ model 525 focuses on small- to medium-sized business needs. This 1/2-way system, with full POWER5+™ performance and i5/OS™ Licensing by User, redefines the cost to acquire a System i solution.

If you need to support 40 or more concurrent i5/OS1 users and require greater systems scalability and partitioning capability than the model 515, the model 525 offers an attractive entry point. It includes the options you value all wrapped up in an easy-to-install, manageable system that provides the performance and reliability you expect from IBM.

Features and benefits include:

Capable of running i5/OS, Linux™, and AIX 5L™ applications on a single system and integrating IBM xSeries® servers running Windows™

1/2-way system with a 1.9 GHz POWER5+ processor

Two system configuration options, Express and Capacity BackUp (CBU), to fit your system requirements

Support for 30 to unlimited concurrent i5/OS users with a P10 software tier

Customizable to your specific order

Security and virus resistance to help ensure your system's availability

1

An i5/OS user is a person who accesses the program via one or more connections, exchanging credentials (form of user identification) directly with the program or indirectly through application or middleware software supported by the program. You must acquire entitlement for the maximum number of i5/OS users simultaneously authenticated on the machine
