GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This device is to terminate operation of an 8" to 12" reciprocating type air motor in the event of a ruptured outlet hose or the pump runs out of media. For compressed air use only.

Operating Pressure Range . . . 30 ￿ 120 p.s.i. (2.1 ￿ 8.3 bar) Temperature Range . . . . . . . . . 0_ to 180_F (￿18_ to 82_C)

OPERATION

The ARO￿STOP control valve senses an increased volume of air to the pump, beyond the preadjusted setting, and shuts off the air supply to the pump. The •runaway" condition may be caused by any of the follow￿ ing: 1.) depleted pump material, 2.) a ruptured line on the outlet of the pump, 3.) excessive cavitation in the material supply.

INSTALLATION

The ARO￿STOP valve should be installed in a filtered and regulated air line. The Filter & Regulator should be no smaller than an Aro Heavy￿ Duty series. Upstream plumbing from the ARO￿STOP should be 3/4" minimum. The 3/4" swivel furnished with the ARO￿STOP is to be installed on the inlet of the ARO￿STOP to facilitate easy adjustment. Install the outlet of the ARO￿STOP on the inlet of pump motor. Installa￿ tion of ARO￿STOP as illustrated is recommended. Use one ARO￿STOP for each pump. See typical installation photo.
