Setting up your home theater system

Power source

Use the polarized AC line cord provided for operation on AC power. Insert the AC cord plug into a standard 120 V 60 Hz polarized AC outlet.

If you cause a static discharge when touching your receiver and your receiver fails to function, unplug it from the AC outlet and plug it back in. Your receiver should return to normal operation.

Warnings

The system uses a polarized AC plug with one wide blade and one narrow. The plug only fits into matching polarized power outlets. This is a safety feature to reduce the possibility of electric shock. If the plug does not fit in your power outlets, you might have outdated, non-polarized outlets which should be changed by a qualified, licensed electrician. Do not file the wide blade on the plug or use an adapter to make the plug fit into your outlet. This defeats the safety feature and could expose you to electric shock.

Never connect the AC cord plug to other than the specified voltage (120 V 60 Hz). Use the attached power cord only.

Connecting the AM and FM antennas

To connect the AM and FM antennas:

1Connect the AM loop antenna (provided) to the AM jack on the back of the DVD receiver, then place the antenna on a shelf or attach it to a wall.

2Connect the FM antenna (provided) to the FM jack, then extend the antenna and attach it to a wall.

For better FM stereo reception, connect an external FM antenna (not provided) to the DVD receiver.

Notes

Adjust the position of the antennas for optimal reception.

Position the antennas as far as possible from your TV, VCR, or other radiation sources to prevent unwanted interference.

Connecting the speakers and subwoofer

To connect the speakers and subwoofer

Connect the speakers and subwoofer to the DVD receiver using the speaker cables (provided). Match the color of the jacks to the speaker plugs, and fully insert the plugs into the jacks.
