Setting up your television

Installing batteries in the remote control

To install batteries in the remote control:

1Open the battery cover.

2Insert two AA batteries.

3Replace the cover.

15 —Press to search backward on a DVD player or
VCR.
16 —Press to skip backward to the previou s
chapter or track on a DVD player.
17 MTS/SAP—Press to select STEREO, SAP, or
MONO in analog TV mode. Press to select the
audio la nguage in DTV mode.
18 ZOOM—Press to select the screen aspect ratio.

signal information.
28 OK—Press to conf irm a selection or toggl e
between settings of the selected menu item.
29 EXIT—Press to exit the menu.
30 —Press to start playing a D VD or VCR tape.
31 —Press to stop playing a DVD or VCR tape.
32 —Press to search forward on a DVD player or
VCR.
33 —Press to skip forward to the next chapter or
track on a DVD player.
34 SLEEP—Press to set the sleep timer.
35 CCDPress to turn closed captioning on or off
and to se lect the caption mode.
36 PICTURE—Press to select the pi cture mode.
37 AUDIO—Press to select th e sound mode.
38 FREEZE—Press to freeze the current picture.

Caution
Improper use of batteries can result in a leakage
of chemicals and/or explosion. Be sure to follow
the instructions below.
Place batteries with their terminals
corresponding to the (+) and (-) indications.
Diff erent types of batteries ha ve different
characteristics. Do not mix batteries of different
types.
Do not mix old and new batteries. Mixing old
and new batteries can shorten the life of new
batteries and/or cause old batteries to leak
chemicals.
Remove batteries as soon as they are
non-operable. Chemicals that leak from
batteries can cause a rash. If chemical leakage
is found, wipe with a cloth.
The batteries supplied with the remote may
hav e a shorter life expectancy due to storage
conditions.
If the remote control is not used for an
extended period of time, remove the batteries
from the remote control.
