Straight-through vs. crossover cables

Ports 1-8 on the Express 130T Standalone Hub are wired MDI-X (indicated by the ‘x’ next to the port number), which allows you to use a straight-through cable when connecting to a PC or server (network adapter cards are wired MDI). For direct connection to another MDI-X port (such as a switch port), use a crossover cable.

*Instead of using a crossover cable from ports 1-8, you can use a straight-through cable from the Daisy-chain port. Remember, you can’t use Port 1 if you’re using the Daisy-chain port.
