Intel® 80303 and 80302 I/O Processors Specification Update 37
Documentation Changes
26. Section 13.2.4.3, F i rs t Pa ragraph after Table 13-13 has Incorr ec t DataProblem: First sentence incorrectly states error types for corrected Table 13-13:
...If decoding the syndrome indicates a double-bit or nibble error...
Should read as follows:
...”When” decoding the syndrome indicates a “multi”-bit error...

27. Section 13.2.4.3, First Paragraph after “Current” Figure 13-16. H-Matrix has Incorrect DataProblem: First sentence incorrectly states error types for corrected Table 13-13:
...If error reporting is enabled in the ECCR and the MCU detec ts a nibble, single-bit, or double-bit
error...
Should read as follows:
...”When” error reporting is enab led in the ECCR and the MCU detects a single-bit or “multi”-bit
error...

28. Section 11.3.1.5 FAIL# CodeProblem: The verbiage in this section is residual from the Intel® i960® I/O Processor Developer’s Manual,
where the internal bus was accessible from the outside. The internal bus is not accessible from the
outside for i960 RM/RN I/O processor. S ince the customer cannot “see” the internal bus, whatever
is on it is not useful and is only confusing. Therefore, this se ction has been removed.

29. Section 13.5 Reset Conditions has Incorrect DataProblem: The last sentence in the first paragraph incorrectly states:
Reads issued prior to a write to the same address results in an ECC error (if enabled) and is not
recommended.
This should state:
Reads issued prior to a write to the sa me addr es s resu lt s in an EC C err or an d are not recommended.
30. Section 13.2.4.2, First Sentence has Incorrect DataProblem: On page 13-28, the first sentence reads: “I f the internal bus master writes less than the data bus
width programmed in the SDCR, then the MCU translates the write transaction into a
read-modify-write transaction.” Please remove “programmed in the SDCR” from the sentence.

31. Section 13.6.2, Second Sentence has Incorrect DataOn page 13-46, the second sentence reads: “The SDCR specifies the drive strength for the MCU
pins, the bus width, and power failure h andling.” Please “remove, the bus width, and power failure
handling” from the sentence. It should read “The SDCR specifies the drive strength for the MCU
pins.”
