BIOS SETUP
SATA Mode
The setting choices for the SATA Mode are IDE, RAID and AHCI Mode. Select [IDE] if you want to have SATA function as IDE.
Select [AHCI] for Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) feature, with improved SATA performance with native command queuing & native hot plug. Select [RAID] to use SATA as RAID function. RAID function is supported on the board if it uses ICH8R. (MB898RF supports 6 x SATA with RAID.)
Power ON Function
This field is related to how the system is powered on – such as with the use of conventional power button, keyboard or hot keys. The default is
BUTTON ONLY.
KB Power ON Password
This field allows users to set the password when keyboard power on is the mode of the Power ON function.
Hot Key Power ON
This field sets certain keys, also known as hot keys, on the keyboard that can be used as a ‘switch’ to power on the system.

Onboard Serial/Parallel Port
These fields allow you to select the onboard serial and parallel ports and their addresses. The default values for these ports are:

UART Mode Select
This field determines the UART 2 mode in your computer. The default value is Normal. Other options include IrDA and ASKIR.
