Tailshaft Conversion

This short shaft or slip yoke eliminator kit P/N 4007 shortens the T-case allowing you to run a 4" longer CV style drive shaft. Combined with a CV style drive shaft (sold separately) it helps eliminate driveline vibration and the friction of the factory slip yoke design. It also improves driveline angles and eliminates in most cases the need for a transfer case lowering kit.

This improves ground clearance since the skid pan is not lowered. The new main shaft is close to 20% larger than factory and will take the added torque of 4 to 1 conversions, additional horsepower and larger tires. This kit fits all 231 equipped YJ’s and TJ’s. It also fits XJ’s with manual transmissions.

Pro Comp System Features

These systems feature solid and simple, tubular chromoly lower control arms for improved strength compared to the factory units. These arms use unique, reverse hour-glass urethane bushings that increase off-road articulation and do not compromise on-road handling. Ideal spring rates and monotube adjustable MX6 shock absorbers are other key contributors to excellent road and trail manners. Necessary components like, transfer case lowering hardware, transfer case shifter and rear track bar relocation brackets along with extended bump stops and sway bar links complete a worthy package that is a step above your basic or entry level kits.

Pro Comp’s high quality adjustable track bar is a trail smart upgrade for any system with 2” – 5” suspension lifts. This adjustable track bar keeps the front axle of a lifted Jeep in the correct location to reduce bump steer and to keep the vehicle tracking down the road straight. P/N JTB400 is manufactured with U.S. 4130 chromoly tubing and includes an aircraft quality high angle rod end for the frame mount. Grade 8 hardware and durable urethane bushings complete this US made suspension upgrade.

4WD, 2WD specifications

Jeep has been an iconic name in the automotive world, known for its rugged designs and off-road capabilities. One of the key choices that prospective Jeep owners face is whether to opt for a 2WD or a 4WD model. Each drivetrain configuration comes with its own set of features, technologies, and characteristics tailored to different driving needs.

The 2WD models, typically found in some variants of the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Cherokee, are designed for those who prioritize fuel efficiency and city driving. 2WD systems engage only the rear wheels, providing adequate traction for everyday conditions while maximizing fuel economy. This configuration is suitable for drivers who navigate mainly on paved roads and require comfort and convenience for daily commutes. Features like lightweight construction and aerodynamic design come into play, enhancing the overall efficiency of 2WD vehicles.

On the other hand, 4WD models are equipped for more adventurous scenarios. Jeep's innovative 4WD systems, such as the Command-Trac and Rock-Trac, feature selectable and full-time options, allowing drivers to switch between 2WD and 4WD. This flexibility provides optimal traction on challenging terrains, making it ideal for off-roading enthusiasts. One of the standout features of Jeep's 4WD technology is the ability to handle steep inclines, rocky paths, and muddy trails, with advanced traction control systems ensuring confident driving in adverse conditions.

In addition to traditional 4WD capabilities, Jeep incorporates modern technologies into its vehicles. The Selec-Terrain system, available in many 4WD models, allows drivers to customize their experience based on conditions. Options such as Auto, Snow, Sand, Mud, and Rock modes optimize the vehicle's performance accordingly, enhancing stability and grip on various surfaces.

Safety is a critical aspect of both 2WD and 4WD models. Advanced driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist are available across many Jeep models, ensuring peace of mind for all drivers.

In summary, whether choosing a Jeep 2WD for its economy and ease or a 4WD for its unmatched off-road prowess, buyers are treated to a robust selection of features and technologies. Jeep continues to innovate, ensuring that each model meets the demands of diverse driving experiences, making them a versatile choice for adventurers and daily drivers alike.
