4. Thi s sander is designed and int ended for use by prop erly trained and ex perienced personnel onl y. If
you are not f amiliar with the proper and safe operation of a sander, do not use until proper training
and knowledge have been obtained.

6. Always wear approved saf ety glasses/face shi elds while using t his sander. Everyday ey eglasses only
hav e impact resistant lenses; they are not safety glasses.
7. Before operating this sander, remov e tie, rings, watches and other jewelry, and roll sleeves up past
the elbows. Remove all loose cl othi ng and c onfine long hair. Non- sl ip footwear or anti-ski d fl oor str ips
are rec om m ended. Do not wear gl oves.
8. Wear ear prot ector s (plugs or muffs) during ext ended peri ods of oper ati on.
9. Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and other construction activities
contai n chemical s known to cau se cancer, birt h defects or other reproductiv e harm . Some exam ples
of t hese chem icals are:
Lead from lead based paint .
Crystalline silica from bricks, c em ent and ot her masonry products.
Arseni c and c hr om ium fr om c hemi c ally tr eated lumber.
Your risk of exposure varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your
exposure to these chemicals, work in a well-ventilated area and work with approved safety
equipment, such as face or dust masks that are specifically designed to filter out microscopic
particles.
10. Do not operate this mac hine while ti r ed or under t he influence of drugs, alcohol or any m edi c ation.
11. Make c er tain the switc h is i n the OFF position before connecting t he m achi ne to t he power supply .
12. Make c er tain the machine is properl y grounded.
13. Make all machi ne adjustments or maintenance with the machine unplugged f r om the power source.
14. Remove adjusting keys and wrenches. Form a habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting
wrenches are removed from the machine before tur ning it on.
15. Keep safety guards in place at all times when the machine is in use. If removed for maintenance
purposes, use extreme cauti on and r eplace the guards immediat ely .
16. Make sure the sander is firmly secured to the stand or work t able bef or e use.
17. Check damaged parts. Before further use of the machine, a guard or other part that is damaged
should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended
function. Check for alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting
and any other condi tions that may aff ect it s operation. A guard or ot her part that is damaged should
be properly r epaired or replaced.

19. Keep the floor around the machine clean and free of scrap mater ial, oil and grease.
20. Keep visit ors a safe distance from the work area. Keep ch il dren away.
