Custom location:Runspeakerwiretothe
desiredmountinglocation.Ifyouarerunning
wiresintoadoor,useexistingfactorywiringboots
wheneverpossible.Ifyoua redrillingnewholes ,file
theiredgesandinstallrubbergrommetsintoeach
hole.Then,coverthewireswithaprotectivePVC
sleeveandrunthemthroughthedoorjamb.Make
surethatthewiresw illcleardoorhin gesandother
structuresinthe door.Ifyouareunsureabout any
partofthisprocess,pleasecontactyourJLAUDIO
dealerforinstallat ionhelp.

Selectanevensurfac e.Tighteningaspeaker onto
anunevensurfaceca ndamageit.Usethesuppl ied
templatetomarkthedesiredmountinglocation.
Markthecenterandtheoutlineofthemounting
holeaswellasthemount ingscrewpositions.Before
drillingorcuttingonyourinteriorpanels,usea
utilityknifetocutanyfabric,vinylorleatherfrom
hole���locations.Thesematerialscaneasilybesnagged
byadrillorasaw,causingdamagetothepanel
andpossiblebodilyinjury.Drillfour1/8-inch(3
mm)holesforthespeaker’smountingscrewsatthe
positionsyouhavemarked.Alsodrillapilothole
inthecenterofthespeakermountingholeatthis
time.Then,usingasabersaw,makethecircularcut
outforthespeaker.Fileanyroughedges.Insertthe
mountingclipswiththeflatsidetowardsthespeaker
asshowninDiagram B(page5).
Itisabsolutelyvitalthatthespeakerframefitsinto
themountingholeclean ly.Thismustbecheckedprior
totighteningthescrews.Donotforcetheframeintoa
holethatistoosmall.Donottightenthespeakeronto
anunevensurface.Thiswilldamageyourspeakers.
Thespeakershouldal sofitsothatairdo esnotleak
aroundthemountingflange.Airleakswillcausea
severedegradationinsoundquality.Sealanyairleaks
withanautomotive-grade sealantmaterial.
sPeaKer insTallaTion
Thespeakershouldbeinstalledinoneofthe
followingwaysdepending onlocation:
Factory location:Ifyouwillbe usingthefactory
speakerwires,itmaybenecessarytochangethe
terminations.Thismaybeaccomplishedbyusingan
adaptorplugorsimplybycuttingthefactoryconnector
offandusingthesuppl iedcrimpconnectorsto
terminatethespeake rwires.Thelargecon nectorisfor
thepositiveterminalandthesmallconnectorisforthe
negativeterminalofeachC2-600x.
Youmayalsochoosetorunnewspeakerwires...
Runspeakerwiretot hedesiredmounting
locations.Ifyouareru nningwiresintoado or,use
existingfactoryw iringbootswheneverpo ssible.If
youaredrillingnewholes,filetheiredgesandinstall
rubbergrommetsintoeac hhole.Wiresshouldthen
becoveredwithaprotective,flexiblePVCsleeveand
thenrunthroughthedoorjamb.Makesurethatthe
wireswillclear doorhingesandotherst ructuresin
thedoor.Ifyouareunsureaboutanypartofthis
process,pleasecontactyourJLAudiodealerfor
installationhelp.

Yournewspeakershavebeendesignedtoinstall,
withoutmodifications,intomostvehiclesthataccept
a6-inch(150mm)speaker.Mostfac tory6-inch
speakersusefourmount ingscrewswhichwil llineup
withthemountingholes onyourC2-600xspea kers.
Othersusea3-holemountingsystemwhichis
accommodatedbyaseparatesetofmountingholes
ontheframesofyourC 2-600xspeakers.
Itisabsolutelyvitalthatthespeakerframe
fitsintothemounting holecleanly.Thismustbe
checkedpriortotighteni ngthescrews.Donot
forcetheframeintoahole thatistoosmall.Do
nottightenthespeakerontoanunevensurface.
Thiswilldama geyourspeakers.Thesp eaker
shouldalsofitsothatairdoesnotleakaround
themountingflange.Airleakswillcauseasevere
degradationinsoundquality.Sealanyairleaks
withanautomotive-grade sealantmaterial.
