Make sure the package contains all of the accessories listed in “Specifications” (☞ 16).
BSituate recorder
Place the recorder on a stable, horizontal surface.
CConnect recorder to TV

AERIAL
RF Connection
ADisconnect the TV aerial cable from the TV.
BConnect the TV aerial cable to the AERIAL connector on the rear of the recorder.
CConnect the provided RF cable between the RF. OUT connector on the rear of the recorder and the TV’s aerial connector.
AV Connection
If your TV is equipped with audio/video input connectors, perform AV connection to improve picture quality during tape playback.
AConnect the aerial, recorder and TV as shown in the illustration.
BConnect an optional audio/video cable between the AUDIO/ VIDEO OUT connectors on the rear of the recorder and the TV’s audio/video input connectors.
NOTE:
For HR-J291EA owners:
If your TV has audio L and R input connectors, connect the recorder’s AUDIO OUT connector to the TV’s audio L input connector.
