Sound Modes

 

 

NICAM Stereo and Bilingual Broadcasts

 

 

 

 

 

This VCR is equipped with a digital stereo sound decoder (NICAM) which makes

the reception of stereo and bilingual broadcasts possible. When the VCR is tuned

to a different preset, the type of broadcast will be displayed on the TV screen for

(O.S.D.) to ON

normal selection hi fi l lLr should normally be selected. In this mode, Hi-Fi stereo tapes are played back in stereo and the normal audio track is played back automatically for tapes which only have normal audio.

recording If the NICAM stereo signal is poor or unavailable, the VCR will automatically record standard monoaural audio onto both the Hi-Fi and normal audio tracks. This will eliminate possible audio interference.
