If the AM loop antenna wire or speaker cords are covered with vinyl, remove the vinyl to expose the tip of the antenna by twisting the vinyl.

Make sure the antenna conductors do not touch any other terminals, connecting cords or power cord. Also keep the antennas away from the metallic parts of the System, connecting cords, and the AC power cord. This could cause poor reception.

Changing the Scanning Mode

This System supports progressive scanning.

If you connect a progressive TV through the COMPONENT jacks, you can enjoy a high quality picture from the built-in DVD player by selecting progressive mode. And in that case, set the VIDEO OUT SELECTOR to Y/C (see below).

Selecting the Video Signal

After connecting the TV, set the video signal type correctly for your TV. The VIDEO OUT SELECTOR is on the back of the System

Make sure the System is not yet turned on. If it is already turned on, turn off then on again so that the selector setting becomes active.

To connect the speaker cords

Connect the right speaker to the R terminals, and the left speaker to the L terminals.

When connecting the speaker cords, match the polarity of the speaker terminals: gray cord (+) to red (+), and gray cord with black stripe (–) to black (–).

• DO NOT connect more than one speaker to each terminal.

DO NOT allow the conductor of the speaker cords to be in touch with the metallic parts of the System.

RGB Select for sending composite video signals or RGB signals through the SCART terminal.

Y/C Select for sending S-Video signals through the SCART terminal or component video signals through the COMPONENT jacks.

Connect only component video cord or SCART cable at one time. SCART cable can convey composite video signals, RGB signals, and S-Video signals. But S-Video signals output only when the VIDEO OUT SELECTOR is set to Y/C.
