Receiving FM Stations with RDS	Remote
	ONLY

Radio Data System (RDS) allows FM stations to send an additional signal along with their regular program signals.

•When tuned to an FM station which provides the RDS service, the RDS indicator lights on the display.

This System can receive the following types of RDS signals.

PS (Program	Shows commonly known
Service)	station names.
PTY (Program	Shows types of broadcast
Type)	programs.
RT (Radio Text)	Shows text messages the station
	sends.
Enhanced Other	Provides the information about
Networks	the types of the programs
	broadcast by the RDS stations
	of the different networks.

To show the RDS information

While listening to an FM station...

PS PTY

Frequency RT

(at the same time)

PS Station names is displayed. “NO PS” will appear if no signal is sent.

PTY The broadcast program type is displayed. “NO PTY” will appear if no signal is sent.

RT Text messages the station sends is displayed. “NO RT” will appear if no signal is sent.

Searching for a Program by

PTY Codes	Remote

You can locate a particular kind of program from the preset stations (see page 11) by specifying the PTY codes.
