DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT options

6 Press 5/to select a desired digital output signal type.

Set this item correctly when you connect the unit to an external surround decoder or D/A converter. (If you do not connect the unit to such a device, you do not have to set this item.)

When connecting to a Dolby Digital decoder, select [DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM].

When connecting to a DTS decoder, select [STREAM/ PCM].

When connecting to other digital device, select [PCM ONLY].

7 Press ENTER.

The TV screen returns to the opening display.

To bring up the DVD PLAYER SET UP display later

Press CHOICE for a few seconds until the DVD PLAYER SET UP display appears.

To change the brightness of the display window

Press DIMMER on the remote control unit.

You can select the display window brightness from three levels.

Inserting discs

1 Press 0 (open/close) on the right of the disc tray you want to open.

2 Place a disc in the disc tray.

With the label side up

• To insert an 8-cm disc, place it in the inner recess.

3 Press 0 (open/close) located on the right of the disc tray.

Hint

You can insert or remove the disc by pressing 0 (open/close) for a disc tray which is not in use for playback while a disc in the other tray is being played, without interrupting playback.

Using the OPEN/CLOSE button on the remote control

You can open and close the disc trays by using the OPEN/ CLOSE button on the remote control in the following ways.

To open the current disc tray

In stop mode, press OPEN/CLOSE, and the current disc tray opens.

To check the current disc number, press ON SCREEN to bring up the status bar (see page 11).

To remove the disc currently being played

During playback, press OPEN/CLOSE, and the disc tray containing the disc currently being played opens.

To open the desired tray that contains a disc

1Press DISC SELECT.

2Press the numeric buttons (1 to 5) to designate the disc tray you want to open.

3Press OPEN/CLOSE.

NOTES

Basic

You cannot use DISC SELECT and the numeric buttons to open the disc tray whose disc indicator is not lit.

If you use DISC SELECT and the numeric buttons to designate a disc tray, or press 0 (open/close) for a disc tray which is not in use for playback while another disc tray is open, the disc tray will be closed.
