Cleaning the Polished Exterior & Removable Filter

The stainless steel surface may be wiped over with a damp cloth and polished with a soft clean dry cloth.

Note: Do not use chemicals, steel wool, or abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the kettle

The filter fitted inside the kettle over the spout is removable by sliding in and out of position. Ensure the kettle and water have cooled down before attempting to clean the filter.

The filter can be washed in warm, soapy water.

Mineral deposits and discolouration

Due to the large surface area of the concealed element interior base, discolouration due to mineral deposits will appear more obvious. The mineral deposits can leave a brown stain on the base.THIS IS NOT RUST.

To remove the discolouration follow the cleaning instructions “Removal of mineral deposits”.

Removal of Mineral Deposits

Mineral deposits in tap water may cause the kettle interior to discolour over time. This may be removed by using a kettle descaler which is available from most leading supermarkets, department and hardware stores.

Alternatively: Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and the remainder (up to 2/3 of maximum) with water, boil and allow to stand overnight.

Empty the solution from the kettle. Fill the kettle with clean water, bring to the boil and discard the water. Repeat and the kettle will be ready for use.
