OPERATING THE LASER

Do not stare into the laser beam. Never aim the beam at any person or an object other than the workpiece. The use of optical instru- ments with this laser product will increase the chance of eye damage.

The laser runs on two AAA batteries which are located beneath the “ON/OFF” switch.

When the laser light begins to dim, change both batteries.

NEVER mix old batteries with new.

TO CHANGE LASER BATTERIES:

1. Push up on battery compartment cover and pull open.

2. Make sure batteries are correctly positioned according to the positive/negative markings on the compartment.

3. Close cover.

USING THE LASER LIGHT:

1. Place the workpiece on the table.

2. To turn the laser light on, press the “ON/OFF” switch.

3. To turn the laser light off, press the “ON/OFF” switch again.

4. To adjust the laser line, turn the laser adjustment knob in a counter-

clockwise direction to loosen it and

then move it to the left or right until the laser line is in line with the blade. Turn the laser adjustment knob in a clockwise direction to tighten.

The laser guide does not normally present an optical hazard, although staring at the beam may cause flash blindness.

The laser should be used and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Always ensure the laser beam is aimed at a sturdy workpiece without a reflective surface, i.e. wood or rough coated surfaces are acceptable. A bright shiny reflec- tive sheet or the like is not suitable for laser use as the defective surface could direct the beam back at the operator.

It may be more difficult to see the laser line in condi- tions of bright sunshine and on certain surfaces.

OPERATING THE CIRCULAR SAW

Always unplug the tool before attempting to change the blade or accessories.

OPERATING THE ON / OFF SWITCH

Squeeze the trigger switch to turn the tool “ON”. Release the trigger switch to turn the tool “OFF”.

GENERAL CUTTING

Always hold the saw in front of you and away from your body. Keep your hands and feet well away from the work piece.

Never feed the blade into the work piece until the blade is at full speed. If the blade is not at full speed, the saw may kick back causing serious personal injury.

Do not force the saw. Excessive force may result in a broken blade. Use only enough pressure to keep the saw moving through the work piece.

Put on eye protection.

Clear the saw of any foreign material.

Make sure the work piece is held securely in place. Hold smaller pieces in a vise or attach to the workbench with clamps.

Mark out the line to be cut so it is easily visible.

Check the lower guard for damage. If damaged, do not use tool.

Always use the right blade for the material.
