Troubleshooting Guide

The following messages are displayed when certain problems are occurring in your sys- tem. Take the recommended actions.

Protect

The speaker wire has a short-circuit or touches the chassis of the vehicle, and then the protection function is activated.

] Wire or insulate the speaker cable properly and press the reset button.

Hot Error

The protection circuit in the unit activates when the temperature inside the unit exceeds 60°C (140°F), stopping all operation.

] Cool down the unit by opening the windows or turning on the air conditioner. As the temperature falls below 60°C (140°F), the disc will start playing again.

Hold Error

The protection circuit in the unit activates when the temperature inside the automatic disc changer exceeds 60°C (140°F), stopping all operation.

] Cool down the unit by opening the windows or turning on the air conditioner. As the temperature falls below 60°C (140°F), the disc will start playing again.

Mecha Error

The disc player is malfunctioning.

] Eject the disc and try inserting it again. Contact the Kenwood dealer if this indicator continues blinking or the disc cannot be ejected.

Disc Error

The unplayable discs is inserted.

Read Error

The disc is upside-down.

] Load the disc with the labeled side up. The disc is quite dirty.

] Clean the disc, referring to the section on <Disc cleaning> (page 13).

Region code Error

The DVD software encoded for other region code.

Parental level Error

The parental level is set to high levels.

Error 07 — 67

The unit is malfunctioning for some reason.

] Press the reset button on the unit. If the "Error ##"

code does not disappear, consult your nearest service center.
