Letter Seek
You can search for the song, you want to play, by selecting the initial of Genre name, Artist name, or Album name.
1Select the key function section Press the [NEXT] button.
Repeatedly press the button until "S.MODE" is displayed above the [1] button.

•This operation does not function when <All Random Play> (page 31) is ON.
•This function is available only when the Play mode is set Genre, Artist, or Album.
Cancelling the Letter SeekPress the [1] ("EXIT") button.3Start the Letter SeekPush the Control knob towards [4] or [¢].
The initial of Genre name, Artist name, or Album name is displayed and announced in order.
•The announcement of the initial can be canceled by <Voice Index> (page 42).
•When you push the Control knob to the reverse [4] or [¢] during Letter Seek, the initial is displayed and announced in the reversed order.
•Once Letter Seek starts, it cannot be cancelled.
4Select the song to playPress the Control knob when the initial of the song you are searching is displayed and announced.
The selected initial group plays.
•Letter seek can be performed for letters of the alphabet

Attaching a title to a CD.
1Play the disc you want to attach a name to•A title cannot be attached to MD or Audio file media.
2Enter Menu modePress the [MENU] button for at least 1 second. "MENU" is displayed.3Select Name set modePush the Control knob towards [FM] or [AM]. Select the "Name Set" display.4Enter Name set modePress the Control knob for at least 1 second.
5Move the cursor to the enter character positionPush the Control knob towards [4] or [¢].
6Select the character type Press the Control knob.Each time you press the knob, the character type alternates between the types shown in the table below.

•You can enter characters by using a remote control with a number button.
