Playing a cassette tape

1Press TAPE mode [TAPE mode] button to TAPE.2Press the area marked [push open] to open the cassette tape door.3Insert cassette tape into the compartment with the open edge facing down.4Close the door securely.5Press TAPE mode [TAPE mode] button to select the desired reverse mode.

icon : plays both sides and stops.

icon : plays both sides endlessly.

icon : plays only one side of the tape and stops.

6Press SEARCH/TUNING 4 or ¢ [4 or ¢ search +/–] button to move tape to the desired starting point.

7Press FWD PLAY 3/8 [3/8] or RVS PLAY 2/8 [2/8] button to begin playing the tape.

Recording on a cassette tape

You can record from a radio, a CD, a audio file, or a iPod.

For the best recording, use a normal bias tape (Type 1 only).

Recording from a radio

1Insert a cassette tape into the tape compartment and close the door.

2Press TUNER band [TUNER band] button to TUNER and select a radio station.3Press TAPE REC [TAPE rec] button to set the unit into recording standby mode.

The icon “TAPE REC” appears on the display.

4Press FWD PLAY 3/8 [3/8] or RVS PLAY 2/8 [2/8] button to begin recording.

To end recording, press 7 [7 stop] button.

To temporarily pause the recording, press FWD PLAY 3/8 [3/8] or RVS PLAY 2/8 [2/8] button. Press it again to resume recording.

Recording from a CD/ audio file1Insert a disc or a USB device.2Insert a blank cassette tape into the tape deck.3Press the desired source button to select the source you want to record from.

For CD/ audio fi le-CD : Press CD/USB [CD/USB] button to select CD input.

For USB device : Press CD/USB [CD/USB] button to select USB input.

4To record all the tracks/files: Stop playback.

To record a single track/file:Play the track/file to be recorded.5Press TAPE REC [TAPE rec] button to set the unit into recording standby mode.

The icon “TAPE REC” appears on the display.

6Press FWD PLAY 3/8 [3/8] or RVS PLAY 2/8 [2/8] button to begin recording.

The icon “SYNC” appears on the display.

To ensure good system performance, wait until the unit completely reads the disc/USB device before recording.

To temporarily pause the recording, press FWD PLAY 3/8 [3/8] or RVS PLAY 2/8 [2/8] button. Press it again to resume recording.

To end recording, press 7 [7 stop] button.

During recording, it is not possible to listen to another source.

Program recording from a CD/ audio file

Desired CD tracks/ audio file can be programmed in the desired sequence and recorded onto a tape.

1Insert a disc or a USB device.

2Insert a blank cassette tape into the tape deck.

3Press the desired source button to select the source you want to record from.

For CD/ audio fi le-CD : Press CD/USB [CD/USB] button to select CD input.

For USB device : Press CD/USB [CD/USB] button to select USB input.
