COOKTOP USE
This manual covers several different models. The range you have pu rchased may have some or all of the items listed. The locatio ns and
appearances of the features shown here may not match those of your model.

Cooktop Controls

The cooktop controls can be set to anywhere between HI and
LO. Push in and turn to the desired heat setting. Use the
following chart as a guide when setting heat levels.

Element On Indicator Light

An Element On indicator light is located on the left side of the
control panel. When any surface element is turned on, the light
will glow.

Hot Surface Indicator Light

A Hot Surface indicator light is located on the right side of the
control panel. The Hot Surface indicator light will glow as long as
any surface cooking area is too hot to touch, even after the
surface cooking area(s) is turned off.

SETTING RECOMMENDED USE
Double and Triple
Elements
Large diameter cookware.
Large quantities of food.
Home canning.
HI (High) Bring liquid to a boil.
Medium High
(between Hi and Med)
Hold a rapid boil.
Quickly brown or sear food.
Med (Medium) Maintain a slow boil.
Fry or sauté foods.
Cook soups, sauces and
gravies.
WARNING
Fire HazardTurn off all controls when done cooking.Failure to do so can result in death or fire.
Medium Low
(between Med and Lo)
Stew or steam food.
Simmer
Lo (Low) Keep foods warm.
Melt chocolate or butter.
Warming Z one Keep cooked foods warm.
SETTING RECOMMENDED USE
REMEMBER: When range is in use or (on some models) during the Self-Cleaning cycle, the entire cooktop area may become hot.
