Computer/connectivity problemsYou cannot take a
picture
■Turn the camera off, then on again.
■Depress the Shutter button all the way (page8).
■Insert new batteries. If using rechargeable batteries,
charge before inserting (page2 and page 3).
■Wait until the ready light is green before attempting to
take another picture.
■Transfer pictures to the computer (page32), delete
pictures from the camera (page21), switch image storage
locations (page15), or insert a card with available
memory (page7).
Picture orientation is
not accurate
■Set the Orientation Sensor (page 18).
Flash does not fire ■Check flash setting, and change as needed (see page12).
Battery life is short ■Wipe the contacts with a clean, dry cloth (page3) before
loading batteries in the camera.
■Insert new batteries. If using rechargeable batteries,
charge before inserting (page2 and page 3).
Picture taken does not
appear as framed in
viewfinder
■For best results (especially in Close-up mode or when
using zoom) use the camera screen to frame your subject
(page10).

not communicate with
the camera
■Turn on the camera.

■Make sure USB cable is securely connected on camera and
computer port (page32).

Slide Show does not
run on an external
video device
■Adjust the camera Video Out setting (NTSC or PAL,
page18).
■Make sure the external device settings are correct (see the
device’s user’s guide).
