White Balance
Choose your lighting
condition.
Auto (default)—automatically corrects white balance. Ideal
for general picture taking.
Daylight—for pictures in natural lighting.
Tungsten—corr ect s t he o ra ng e ca st of h ou se hol d l igh t b ul bs.
Ideal for indoor pictures under tungsten or halogen li ghting
without flash.
Fluorescent—corrects the g reen cast o f flu ores cent l ight ing.
Ideal for indoor pictures under fluorescent lighting wit hout
flash.
Open Shade—for pictures in shade in natural lighting.
Exposure Metering
Evaluate light levels at specific
areas of a scene.
Multi-Pattern (default)—evaluates lighting conditions
throughout the image to give an optimum picture exposu re.
Ideal for general picture taking.
Center-Weight—evaluates the lighting conditions of the
subject centered in the lens. Ideal for backlit subjects.
Spot—similar to Center-weighted, except the metering is
concentrated on a smaller area of the subject centered in the
viewfinder. If used with Selectable AF zones, the exposure spot
follows the focus zone. Ideal when you need an exact exposure
of a specific area in the picture.
ISO Speed
Control the camera’s
sensitivity to light.
Choose a lower ISO setting in brightly lit scenes; u se a higher
ISO for low-light scenes. Choose Auto (default), 80, 100, 200,
400, 800, 1250.
NOTE: ISO returns to Auto when the camera is set to Portrait or SCN mode.
Unavailable in Video mode.
