Thefollowingactionscoulddamagethengerprintreaderorcauseitnottoworkproperly:
•Scratchingthesurfaceofthereaderwithahard,pointedobject.
•Scrapingthesurfaceofthereaderwithyourngernailoranythinghard.
•Usingortouchingthereaderwithadirtynger.
Ifyounoticeanyofthefollowingconditions,gentlycleanthesurfaceofthereaderwithadry,soft,lint-free
cloth:
•Thesurfaceofthereaderisdirtyorstained.
•Thesurfaceofthereaderiswet.
•Thereaderoftenfailstoenr ollorauthenticateyourngerprint.
Ifyourngerhasanyofthefollowingconditions,youmightnotbeabletoregisterorauthenticateit:
•Yourngeriswrinkled.
•Yourngerisrough,dry,orinjured.
•Yourngerisverydry.
•Yourngerisstainedwithdirt,mud,oroil.
•Thesurfaceofyourngerisverydifferentfromwhenyouenrolledyourngerprint.
•Yourngeriswet.
•Angerthathasnotbeenenrolledisused.
Toimprovethesituation,trythefollowing:
•Cleanorwipeyourhandstoremoveanyexcessdirtormoisturefromthengers.
•Enrollanduseadifferentngerforauthentication.
•Ifyourhandsaretoodry,applylotiontothem.
Noticeondeletingdatafromyourharddiskdriveorsolid-statedriveAscomputersspreadintoeverycorneroflife,theyprocessmoreandmoreinformation.Thedataonyour
computer,someofwhichmightbesensitive,isstoredonaharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive.Beforeyou
disposeof,sell,orhandoveryourcomputer ,besuretodeletedatastoredonit.
Handingyourcomputerovertosomeoneelsewithoutdeletingtheloadedsoftware,suchasoperating
systemsandprogramsoftware,mightevenviolatelicenseagreements.Y ouareadvisedtocheckthe
termsandconditionsofthoselicenseagreements.
Therearemethodsthatseemtodeletethedata:
•Movethedatatotherecyclebin,andthenclickEmptyrecyclebin.
•UsetheDeleteoption.
•Formatyourharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive,usingthesoftwareforinitializingit.
•Usingtherecoveryprogramtobringtheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrivebacktothefactorydefault
settings.
Theseoperations,however,onlychangetheleallocationofthedata;theydonotdeletethedataitself.In
otherwords,thedataretrievalprocessingisdisabledunderanoperatingsystemsuchasWindows.The
dataisstillthere,eventhoughitseemstobelost.Thus,itissometimespossibletoreadthedatabyuseof
