6.Remove the heat sink fan duct. See “Replacing the heat sink and fan assembly” on page 129.

7.Note the cable routing and disconnect the system fan cable from the power fan connector on the system board. See “Locating parts on the system board” on page 80.

8.The system fan is attached to the chassis by four rubber mounts. Remove the system fan by cutting the four rubber mounts 1 and lifting the system fan out of the chassis.

Note: The new system fan will have four new rubber mounts attached.

9.Install the new system fan by aligning the new rubber mounts that came with the new system fan with the corresponding holes in the chassis, and then push the rubber mounts through the holes. Then, carefully pull on the tips of the rubber mounts from the bottom until the new system fan is secured in place.
