SuperFrostDuraFreeze

Fresh food should be frozen to the core as rapidly as pos- sible. Frozen food can also be given a cold boost. This is provided by the SuperFrost facility and ensures that the nutri- tional value, appearance and flavour of the food remain intact. W The maximum amount of food which can be frozen in

24 hours is shown on the type plate ("Freezing capacity

... kg/24h"), fig. A2, pos. 4. This amount varies accord-ing to the model and climate rating.

Freezing with SuperFrost

W Press the SuperFrost button 4briefly so that it lights up. The freezer temperature will decrease and the appliance will switch to the lowest temperature.

W For small amounts of frozen food, it is normally sufficient to switch on SuperFrost 6 hours beforehand. For the maxi mum amount (see freezing capacity on the type plate) you will need to switch it on 24 hours beforehand.

W Then place the fresh food inside the freezer, preferably in the top drawers.

If freezing the maximum quantity of food, do not use the drawers; instead, place the wrapped food directly on the shelves. Once the food is frozen you can load it into the drawers.

- The SuperFrost function switches off automatically. Depending on the quantity of food placed in the freezer, this will normally be between 30 and max. 65 hours. The freezing process is now complete, the SuperFrost button will go dark and the appliance will continue to operate at the last setting.

Note: When the SuperFrost function is activated the appliance will be running at full capacity, so the refrigeration unit will sound slightly louder for a while.

You should not switch on the SuperFrost function: - when placing frozen food in the freezer;

- when freezing up to approx. 2 kg fresh food daily.

DuraFreeze enables you to

- preserve the quality of your food better than in normal mode for the standard length of time

- or double the length of time you store it, keeping the same quality as in standard mode.

Storage with DuraFreeze

The DuraFreeze circuit is a combination of low and even stor- age temperatures. This reduces drying out, frost formation, recrystallisation, freezer burn and weight loss. Formation of ice crystals in ice-cream is greatly reduced, for instance, so that the sensory properties stay the same. Vegetables, meat, fish and seafood retain their quality and taste and therefore their enjoyment value to an optimum extent.

Switching on DuraFreeze:

Press the DuraFreeze button 4briefly twice.

-The DF in the temperature display 7will light up. The temperature displayed will drop slowly to -28°C.

Switching off DuraFreeze:

Press the DuraFreeze button 4briefly twice.

-The DF in the temperature display will go out. The tempera- ture displayed will rise slowly to the normal temperature of -18°C.

Note:

• As a result of the low storage temperatures in DuraFreeze mode, moisture may accumulate on the outside of the ap- pliance if it is in a room with high humidity. This is not a fault but a natural physical process.

You can prevent this by reducing the humidity in the room or by switching temporarily back to normal mode.
