Refer to the Important Safety Instructions before operation.

-Hold the front handle ((314) with one hand, depressing the front grip safety (C/5).

-Graspthe rear handle(C/6)with the other handandstartthe trimmer with the rear grip safety (Ch').

Caution: The trimmer will start immediately!

Note: The hedge trimmer will start only when both grip safeties (C/5 and C n ) are depressed.

Toswitchoff: Releaseoneor bothgrip safeties.Thetrimmer will stop immediately.

Do not attempt to cut branches thicker than 16 mm (0.6) diameterwith this trimmer. These shouldfirst be cut with shears (fig. D)down to the hedgetrimmer level.

Hold the trimmer with both hands and move it in front of your body (see fig. E).

When operatingthe trimmer, keep extension cord behindtrim- mer. Never drape it over hedge being trimmer.

CAUTION:

Be careful not to accidentallycontact a metalfence or other hard objects while trimming. The blade will break and may cause serious injury.

Do not attempt to trim too much at a time, or malfunctionof the tool may result.

Overreaching with a hedge trimmer, particularly from a ladder, is extremely dangerous. Don't work from anything wobbly or infirm (see fig. F).
