12. Changing the batteries

When used normally the batteries in sensors and remote controls last about a year. The life span of batteries does depend on how often a sensor is activated.

Preferably use alkaline batteries, but never rechargeable batteries (rechargeable batteries are not strong enough and will go flat within a few months, even when they are seldom used).

Console – 4xAA batteries

The emergency batteries in the console ensure that even during a power cut the entire system stays operational for another 12 hours (if there is no alarm).

If there is an alarm during a power cut, the console will not activate the siren to save battery power. The telephone dialler works normally.

If there is a power cut and the emergency batteries are flat, all settings are stored, because these are programmed into a non- volatile memory (EEPROM). The clock will need to be reset.

When you decide to turn off the security system for a longer period (e.g. renovation work), remove the batteries from the console to avoid them going flat.

If the emergency batteries are empty or not installed, the BATTERY indicator on the console will flash.

If you open up the battery compartment to change the batteries, the word ‘TAMPER’ will be visible on the display. After inserting the batteries and closing the compartment, enter your PIN code (factory settings 0000, see 8.3) to remove the word ‘TAMPER’.

TOTALGUARD specifications

Marmitek TOTALGUARD is a comprehensive security solution designed to enhance the safety and security of homes and businesses. This advanced system integrates cutting-edge technologies to provide a robust protective measure against unauthorized access, theft, and other security threats.

One of the standout features of TOTALGUARD is its user-friendly interface. The system is designed for simplicity, allowing users to easily control and monitor their security settings via a dedicated mobile app. This app offers real-time notifications and allows users to receive alerts about any suspicious activities, ensuring immediate response to potential threats.

TOTALGUARD employs a range of high-tech sensors and cameras that deliver high-definition video surveillance around the clock. Its motion detection capabilities are finely tuned, allowing the system to differentiate between normal activity and potential intrusions. This minimizes false alarms, giving users peace of mind that their property is protected without the constant interruptions of unnecessary alerts.

The system is also equipped with smart home integration features, making it compatible with popular smart home devices. This connectivity means that homeowners can integrate their security system with other elements of their smart home – such as lighting and climate control – to create a comprehensive safety net. When an alert is triggered, smart lights can turn on to deter intruders, and connected devices can alert users to any unusual activity in their vicinity.

One of the key characteristics of the TOTALGUARD system is its scalability. Whether you live in a small apartment or manage a large commercial facility, the system can be expanded by adding more sensors, cameras, and modules as needed. This adaptability makes it an ideal choice for a variety of users and settings.

In addition, TOTALGUARD features advanced encryption protocols that ensure the security of data transmission between devices, safeguarding sensitive information from cyber threats. This level of security is crucial in today's digital landscape where security breaches can occur remotely.

Lastly, the Marmitek TOTALGUARD system is designed to be easily installed without the need for professional assistance, making it accessible to a wide range of consumers. With its combination of advanced technology, ease of use, and flexibility, TOTALGUARD represents a formidable solution for anyone looking to enhance their security measures in an increasingly uncertain world.
