8. WARRANTY
Dorel Netherlands guarantees that this product meets all safety requirements as described in the current European standards of ECE R44/04. It is also guaranteed that this product does not have any defects in assembly or manufacture at the time of purchase. If after purchase and during the period of the guarantee this product shows material and/or manufacturing faults (with normal use as described in the user instructions), you should contact your retailer. The warranty period is 24 months for plastic and metal parts and 12 months for other parts susceptible to wear, such as the cover, for example.. This does not include, of course, the normal wear that may be expected with the daily use of a product.
The guarantee is not valid in the following cases:
•The product is not supplied via the retailer and/or the importer.
•The product is not supplied to the manufacturer with the original purchase receipt (via the retailer and/or importer).
•The faults are caused by incorrect, careless use or maintenance, deviating from that stated in the user instructions.
•Repairs or changes were carried out by third parties.
•There is discoloration or fabric damage due to incorrect washing or over exposure to sunlight (UV).
•If the defect is the result of a crash, neglect or impact damage to the plastic.
•If the defect is the result of an accident or damage during transport – e.g. by getting jammed or wedged in by heavy luggage or closing doors.
•If any damage or removal of the ECE mark and serial number are observed.
•The parts show normal wear that may be expected from normal daily use.
•If the damage concerns wear and impressions to the car seat and seat belt; these cannot be avoided because of the required safety standards and the powerful and firm fastening methods that must be used. (The manufacturer cannot be held liable for such damages.)
•The above guarantee conditions are otherwise not fulfilled.
Warranty
Date of effect:
• The warranty becomes effective on the date of purchase of the product.
Warranty period:
•The warranty on the plastic parts and metal parts is valid for a period of 24 consecutive months. A term of 12 consecutive months applies to other parts susceptible to wear and tear. The guarantee only applies for the first owner and is not transferable.

What to do in case of defects:
•In the case of faults, contact your seller. If the fault cannot be rectified, the seller will send the product, together with a description of the complaint and the original dated receipt, back to the manufacturer. Exchange or taking back of the product cannot be requested. Repairs do not give entitlement to extension of the warranty. Products that are returned directly to the manufacturer are NOT covered by the guarantee and will be returned for the account of the sender.
Fabric components and other parts subject to wear:
•The cover should be maintained regularly (follow the instructions for maintenance). It is normal that the cover shows a degree of wear or discoloration due to washing and/or sunlight even with normal use. The warranty period for the cover and other parts susceptible to wear, such as the harnesses, is therefore limited to a period of 12 months as of the date of purchase.
This Warranty Clause conforms to European Directive 99/44/EG of 25 May 1999.
