PRIOR TO FIRST USE

Before using for the first time, or after prolonged storage without use, wash any parts that will come into contact with food.

USING THE APPLIANCE

Preparing the juice extractor

1.Place the motor section (4) on a level surface, e.g. a kitchen counter, and make sure it is standing firmly on the four suction cups underneath.

2.Attach the fruit pulp holder (2) by inserting the tab on the holder into the hole on the one side of the motor section. Press until you hear a click.

3.Place the base (12) on the motor section with the spout (11) facing the side where the fruit pulp holder is attached.

4.Carefully lock the centrifuge bowl (14) onto the base.

o Be careful not to touch the sharp parts in the bottom of the centrifuge bowl. o Press the centrifuge bowl into the base as far as it goes and you hear a click. o Make sure that the centrifuge bowl doesn't sit too loosely on the base and

that it rotates evenly.

5.Place the juice extractor lid (17) on the appliance so that it covers both the fruit pulp holder and the base with the centrifuge bowl. Make sure the lid is not askew.

6.Pull the locking mechanism (6) into vertical position and press it into position over the tabs on the lid until the lid locks into place. The lock mechanism makes a clicking sound when this is done correctly.

7.Fit the cap (5) over the funnel by holding it against the side of the appliance with the small end facing upwards and press until it clicks into place.

8.Place a glass, bowl or other suitable container under the spout.

9.If required, use the supplied container for skimming of juice (15). This container has a dividing plate that separates the foam from the juice when you pour the juice into a glass.

10.The appliance is now ready for use.

Using the juice extractor

1.Plug in and switch on the power.

2.Switch on the appliance by turning the on/off button (13) to "I".

3.Feed the selected fruits and/or vegetables into the appliance through the funnel (16) a little at a time, pushing them down using the tamper (1).

o Hold the tamper so that the groove fits correctly into the funnel.

oLong vegetables such as carrots should be fed into the funnel pointy end first.

oPress the fruits and/or vegetables gently with the funnel. Too much presser reduces the amount of juice extracted and can damage the appliance.

o Stop the appliance before removing the tamper to add more fruit/vegetables in order to avoid splashes.

oKeep an eye on the fruit pulp holder and stop juicing before the holder becomes too full. Take care that the container under the funnel does not overflow.

4.Always turn off the power by turning the On/Off button to the "0" position before removing the lid.
