INTRODUCTION

To get the best out of your new kettle, please read through these instructions carefully before using it for the first time. Pay particular attention to the sa- fety measures. We also recommend that you keep the instructions for future reference, so that you can remind yourself of the functions of the kettle.

SAFETY MEASURES

Normal use of the kettle

Incorrect use of the kettle may cause personal injury and damage to the kettle.

Use the kettle for its intended purpose only.

The manufacturer is not responsible for any da- mage resulting from incorrect use or handling (see also Guarantee Terms).

The kettle may only be connected to 230 V, 50

Hz.

The kettle should not be switched on unless there is water in it.

The kettle or cord must not be placed in water or any other liquid.

Never leave the kettle unattended when in use and keep an eye on children.

The water level in the kettle must not exceed the maximum filling level (MAX 1.7L) marked on the water level gauges.

This kettle is not suitable for commercial or outdoor use.

Positioning the kettle

Always place the kettle at the back of a kitchen counter and at a safe distance from flammable objects such as curtains, tablecloths or similar.

Always place the kettle so that the spout is tur- ned away from any other surfaces as the steam from boiling water may damage them.

Do not cover the kettle.

Do not allow the cord to hang over the edge of the counter, and keep it away from hot objects and naked flames.

Return the kettle to its base after use.

Cord, plug and mains socket

Check regularly that the cord is not damaged and do not use the kettle if it is, or if it has been dropped or damaged in any other way.

If the kettle, cord or plug is damaged, it must be inspected and, if necessary, repaired by an authorised repair engineer, otherwise there is a risk of electric shock. Never try to repair the appliance yourself.

Remove the plug from the socket for cleaning.

Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from the socket. Instead, hold the plug.

Check that it is not possible to pull or trip over the kettle or any extension cord.
