How to cut hair
-Situate the person whose hair you are going to cut so that the top of their head is at your eye level. Place a protective towel or cloth around their neck.
-To obtain best results it is better to use the appli- ance on dry hair, as it is much easier to control the hair and the result.
-Comb hair well before cutting. Make sure that there are no tangles or knots.
-Hold the appliance in a calm and relaxed manner in order to ensure maximum control of the cut and a uniform result. Proceed to use short cuts gradu- ally going around the head.
-Leave the hair a little longer than the desired length as it can always be altered later.
-While working adapt the comb/comb guide to the desired length.
-At regular intervals, stop cutting in order to comb the hair and check the results so far.
Step 1 Nape
-Attach comb guide #1 or #2.
-Hold the appliance with the razor facing down- wards and begin to cut the hair from the base of the neck.
-Make some upward movements, raising the ap- pliance gradually and away from the head, cutting the hair gradually until the height of the ears (Fig 1)
Step 2 The back of the head
-Attach comb guide #3, #4, # 5, #6, # 7 or # 8 and continue with the back of the head (Fig 2)
Step 3 The side of the head
-Attach a new shorter comb guide (#1 or #2) to trim the sideburns.
-Attach the longest comb (#3, #4, #5, #6, # 7 or
# 8) again and continue until you reach the top of the head.
Step 4 The top of the head
- Using comb guide #3, #4 or # 5, pass the appli- ance from the back to the front, against the growth of the hair (Fig 3). In some cases it’s necessary to go over what you have done a second time from front to back.
-The comb guide #1 or #2 is for when you want to achieve a more precise cut.
-Use comb guides #6, # 7 o #8 to leave hair at a longer length. Hold the hair up with the comb or the comb and your fingers and cut.
-Always work from the back to the front, reducing the length between your fingers or the comb and the head gradually.
Step 5. Final touch
- To make the sideburns straight, turn the appli- ance over to use the upper blades (Fig 4). Move the appliance adapting it the physiognomy of the head. To achieve more precise results use the shaver or the finishing attachment.
