IBM 46XX Parameter - Inter Record Delay

The time specified with an inter record delay bar code represents the interim of time between transmission of bar codes. The inter record delay is a useful tool for regulating the flow of the bar code data to the terminal through the operat- ing system device drivers. Some applications software are not as efficient as they could be in managing the scanner data. Selecting longer inter-record delays can prevent data loss during long print routines and file look-ups .
