Installing, Connecting, and

Configuring Your Adapter

Your Microsoft® Broadband Networking Ethernet adapter can be set
up in various ways, depending on how your existing network is
configured. The instructions in this chapter will guide you through
the process of setting up your adapter.

Before You Begin

Before you install your PCI adapter, make sure that you have the
following items at the computer:
Included in the Box:
OMicrosoft Broadband Networking PCI Adapter
OUser’s Guide
OSetup CD-ROM
Also Required (but not included in the box):
OEthernet cable
OSystem documentation from your computer’s manufacturer
Optional:
ONetwork settings provided by your Internet service provider
(ISP). You might need this information during setup, depending
on how you install and configure your adapter.
OMicrosoft Windows® Setup CD-ROM. This might be necessary if
you need to install any additional Windows networking
components during setup and configuration.
OA Wake-On-LAN cable. This optional cable is purchased
separately and is necessary only if you want to use the Wake-
On-LAN feature on an older computer. For more information,
see Chapter 1.
