Note: This chart may not reflect the exact character set available on your phone. If you use the Tap English entry method, keys 2 through 9only display the basic characters. In an email address or URL editor, 1shows the common characters for that editor first.
Tap Method Text Entry Rules
•Press a number key repeatedly to cycle through its characters. See the chart on page 31.
•If you do not press a key for 2 seconds, the character in the block cursor is accepted, and the cursor moves to the next position.
•Press Sleft or right to move the flashing cursor to the left or right in a text message.
•The first character of every sentence is capitalised. Press S down to force the character to lowercase while it is highlighted by the block cursor.
•Your phone may support multiple languages. The current language setting determines whether a new message begins on the left or right side of the display.
•If you enter or edit information and do not want to save the changes, press Oto exit without saving.
Using the iTAP™ Method
iTAP™ software provides a predictive text entry method that lets you enter a word using one key press per letter. This can be faster than the Tap Method, because your phone combines the key presses into common words.
