on the corded base or put the corded handset on the base cradle to hang up and leave the cordless handset engaged with the caller.
NOTE
During an external call on any cordless handset, lifting
up the corded handset or pressing 
on the corded base will join in the call and set up a conference call.
3.15Setting the dial mode
The default dialing mode is suitable for your country and network operator. It is unlikely that you should need to change this setting unless advised to do so.
1.Press MENU (Base) and then VOL+ (Base) or VOL- to select SETTINGS.
2.Press MENU (Base) and then VOL+ (Base) or VOL- to select DIAL MODE.
3.Press MENU (Base) and then VOL+ (Base) or VOL- to select TONE or PULSE.
4.Press MENU (Base) to save.
NOTE
If pulse mode is selected, press */TONE to switch from pulse to tone dialing temporarily when dialing out. After the call is ended, the dial mode will change back to pulse.
3.16Setting the flash time
The default flash time is 600ms. It is unlikely that you should need to change this setting unless advised to do so.
1.Press MENU (Base) and then VOL+ (Base) or VOL- to select SETTINGS.
2.Press MENU (Base) and then VOL+ (Base) or VOL- to select FLASH TIME.
3.Press MENU (Base) and then VOL+ (Base) or VOL- to the flash time you want (8 options are
available: 90MS, 100MS, 110MS, 250MS, 300MS, 400MS, 600MS, and 700MS.)
4.Press MENU (Base) to save.
3.17Setting the area code
1.Press MENU (Base) and then VOL+ (Base) or VOL- to select SETTINGS.
2.Press MENU (Base) and then VOL+ (Base) or VOL- to select AREA CODE.
3.Press MENU (Base) and then enter the area code.
4.Press MENU (Base) to save.
