Using the Answering System

Your telephone’s integrated answering system uses audible prompts to provide access to the system’s features and help you set up the device.

In order to access the answering machine features and change the settings, you must press the MENU button located on the base unit.

When you press the MENU button, the display window on your base unit flashes a code to indicate the current feature.

Answering Machine Features Chart

WINDOW	FEATURE	DESCRIPTIONS/DIRECTIONS
DISPLAYS	INDICATED
CL	Clock	Set the clock
An	Answer machine	Turn on or off
A1/A2	Announcement 1/	A1 is available when Announce only (Ao) is off. A2 is
	Announcement 2	available when Announce only is on.
Ac	Remote access	Set the code you will use to access messages from a
	code	remote touch-tone phone. Choose a four-digit number.
		The default code is 0000.
Ao	Announce only	Turn on or off — when turned on, the feature does not
		allow callers to leave a message (e.g., “I am sorry I am
		not available. Please call back later.”)
AL	Message alert	Turn on or off the audible alert that beeps every 10
