Setting the Weather Channel

Your radio receives eight NOAA frequencies. See the Frequency and Code Charts beginning on page 48 for a complete list.

After turning on the weather broadcast, press \ to start the channel display blinking.

Press [ or ] to select the strongest channel.

As with two-way radio reception, weather channel reception depends on how close you are to a transmitter and whether you are indoors or outdoors. Also, because weather channels are transmitted without codes, they may contain static or noise.

Note: In some isolated areas, it may not be possible to receive weather channel transmissions.
