If your radio has QuieT6000 on and want to talk to others in your group who also have QuieT6000 on, you must first transmit a call tone before talking to them. When the call tone is transmitted, ^ is displayed on the other radios with the same channel, interference eliminator code, scramble code, and QuieT6000 on, letting them know that you want to talk to them. Those radios can then receive and transmit until 30 seconds of inactivity occurs, which resets the QuieT6000 function. While QuieT6000 is on, F is displayed. However, during the 30 seconds of inactivity, F flashes.

Unique Situations

QuieT6000 can also keep your radio quiet when you are in a situation where noise can be disruptive, such as when you are in a movie theater or out hunting. Set QuieT6000 to either 1 or 2 and set your radio’s alert to 1 (VibraCall® alert only). Now when you receive a call from radio, your radio vibrates while the ^ displays on the screen. The ^ icon remains on the screen until you press any button. Only then can you receive and transmit to those radios until 30 seconds of inactivity occurs and the QuieT6000 function resets.
