Before use – Running in the appliance

IMPORTANT : When the iron is used for the first time, the steam control button must be held down for about 2 or 3 minutes until the pump starts and steam is produced.

Before first use, the appliance must be prepared by procee- ding as follows:

1.Insert the cartridge as described in the section, “The anti-scale cartridge”.

2.Fill the water tank with untreated tap water – do not exceed the MAX level.

3.Plug in your steam system to an earthed socket.

4.Turn the thermostat control of the iron to the MAX position (•••).

5.Wait for the soleplate to heat up.

6.When it reaches the correct temperature, the indicator light will go out.

7.When the indicator light goes out,

press on the steam control button (located below the handle of the iron) and hold it down for about 2 or 3 minutes (the time that it takes the pump to start and the first bursts of steam from the appliance) without placing the iron on your linen ; once the pump has started, press the “super-pressing” control button a few times.

Your appliance is now ready for the first ironing session.

THE SOLEPLATE

Always put your iron down on the iron rest or on its heel. The iron rest is fitted with non-slip inserts and has been designed to withstand high temperatures.
