WARNING: To avoid serious personal injury, always turn the unit off, allow it to cool and disconnect the spark plug before you clean or perform any maintenance on it.

EngineIMPORTANT: Never run your engine without air cleaner completely assembled.
Air Filter Maintenance1.Place the choke control in the PARTIAL choke position (B).
NOTE: The choke control must be in the PARTIAL choke position (B) to remove the air filter/muffler cover. See Figure 23.
2.Remove the four (4) screws securing the air filter/muffler cover. See Figure 23. Use a flat blade or # T20 Torx bit screwdriver.

3. Pull the cover from the engine. Do not force.

4.Remove the air filter from behind the air filter/ muffler cover. See Figure 24.
4.Wash the filter in detergent and water. Rinse the filter thoroughly. Squeeze out excess water. Allow it to dry completely.
5. Apply enough clean SAE 30 oil to lightly coat the filter. See Figure 25.
6. Squeeze the filter to spread and remove excess oil. See Figure 25.
