The EZ Start Promise™ Provisions of Your Limited Warranty
In addition to the other terms an d conditions of the Limit ed Warranty
applicable to your new mower, MTD LLC ( “MTD”) hereby wa rrants
that your mower’s engine will sta rt on the first or seco nd attempt by
an able-bodied adult (subj ect to the limitation s described below) for
the duration of the manufac turer’s limited warra nty applicable to you r
product. If the engine on your mower f ails to conform to this limi ted
warranty, MTD will cover t he cost of parts and la bor associated with
any adjustments and/ or repairs necess ary to return your engine
to its warranted condi tion. In order to make a claim unde r these
provisions of your warrant y, you must bring the product an d proof of
purchase to an authorized M TD service provid er. In many cases, the
retailer who sold you your mower i s not equipped to provide war ranty
service, so please lo cate the authorized s ervice dealer near est you by
either calling the phone numbe r provided in your Operator s Manual or
looking up an authorized ser vice dealer on-l ine at www.mtdcanad a.
ca.
Items and Conditions Not Covered
The EZ Start Promise d oes not cover and/or a pply to the following:
Co st of regular maintenan ce service or par ts, such as filters, fu el,
lubricants, oil changes , spark plugs, air filter, blade s harpening,
worn blades, cable/ linkage adjustment s, or brake and clutch
adjustments
Transpo rtation costs t o and from an authorized MT D service
provider
A ny engine used for commercia l, rental, institu tional, governmen-
tal, or non-residentia l applications
A ny product or part tha t has been altered or misus ed or required
replacement or repair due to mi suse, accidents, or lac k of proper
maintenance
Rep airs necessary d ue to improper batter y care, electrica l supply
irregularities, or fail ure to properly prepare t he mower prior to any
period of non-use over three m onths
Pi ckup and/or delive ry charges
Op erational misuse, negl ect, accidents, un authorized repairs or
attempted repairs of t he engine or its component s by anyone other
than an authorized MTD se rvice provider.
Rep airs or adjustments to c orrect startin g difficulties due to a ny
of the following: failure t o follow proper maintenan ce procedures
— rotary mower blade str iking an object — cont aminants in the
fuel system — improper fuel or fu el/oil mixtur e (consult your
Operator’s Manual if in doubt ) — failure to drain the fuel sy stem
prior to any period of non-us e over three months
A ny starting proble m which results from the us e of inappropriate
fuels, lubricants, or addi tives
Sp ecial conditions or circ umstances that norm ally require more
than two pulls to start , specifically: 1) Fir st start-up follo wing your
initial purchase, 2) firs t time starts af ter extended period (s) of
non-use over one month or sea sonal storage, 3) cool t emperature
starts such as those f ound in early spring and la te autumn, and 4)
difficult start ing that results from t he operator’s failure to fo llow
the proper starting pr ocedures identifie d in the Operator’s Manual.
If you are having difficul ty starting your un it, please check the
Operator’s Manual to ensure t hat you are using the correc t starting
procedures. This can sav e an unnecessary vi sit to a Service
Dealer.
Owner Responsibilities
You must maintain your mower (includin g its engine) by followin g the
maintenance procedure s and starting inst ructions described i n the
Operator’s Manual. Such rou tine maintenance, whe ther performed by
a dealer or by you, is at your expense. In a ddition, please ret ain your
proof of purchase and ser vice receipts as the se may be required to
validate a claim.
General Conditions
An authorized MTD ser vice provider using appr oved replacement
parts must perform a ll repairs covered by the E Z Start Promise.
Repair by an MTD authorized s ervice dealer is your s ole remedy
under this warranty. MTD is n ot liable for indirect, in cidental, or
consequential damages in c onnection with the us e of the products
covered by these warrant ies, including any cost or e xpense of
providing substitute equi pment or service durin g reasonable periods
of malfunction or non-us e pending completion of re pairs under this
warranty.
Some jurisdictions do not all ow exclusions of incident al or
consequential damages, o r limitations on how long an i mplied
warranty lasts, s o certain exclusions a nd limitations may not ap ply to
you.
