TROUBLESHOOTING

Basic troubleshooting of an amplifier is similar to troubleshooting of any other electrical or electronic equipment. Always check the most obvious possible causes first. To give you a few ideas of what to look for, check the following:

Problem	Probable Cause	Remedy
No power when POWER	Mains plug not inserted	Plug in securely
is pressed	correctly
	PSU unit not connected	Plug PSU umbilical lead
	to main unit	into back of main
		X-AS100 unit
No sound	Volume control is set	Turn up the volume
	to minimum on Preamplifier
	Mute is selected on	Press mute button on
	Preamplifier	remote control
	Preamplifier not connected	Check phono cable
	to Power amplifier	connection between units
	Speakers are not connected,	Check speaker cables
	or are connected incorrectly
Sound is not precise,	Speakers are connected	Make sure that both
lacking in bass and	out of phase	speakers are connected
stereo image		correctly

If none of these actions effect a cure, please contact your dealer, or an authorised Musical Fidelity service agent. Remember, never open the case of the X-AS100 yourself, as this will invalidate the guarantee.
