ABOUT THE L70’S SURROUND MODES

ADJUSTING LEVEL TRIM “ON THE FLY”

You can make changes to the relative levels of centre, surround, and subwoofer outputs. This may prove useful in a number of circumstances; for example, to increase (or tone down) a film’s dialog level by raising (lowering) the centre channel, or to reduce excessive deep bass (or enhance deep bass) by lowering (raising) the subwoofer level without having to go into the LEVEL TRIM OSD menu.

TO ADJUST LEVEL TRIM

Use the HTR L70 remote’s “SURR”, “CENTER”, and “SUB” TO ADJUST LEVEL TRIMADJUSTING THE TONE CONTROLSABOUT THE 12 V TRIGGER OUT keys for direct-access level adjustment of these channels, over a range of ±10 dB. You can also adjust all channel levels using the front panel’s navigation keys (see “Front Panel,” above), or via the <LEVEL TRIM> line of the OSD’s <MAIN MENU> screen.

NOTE

The surround channels (if any) adjust in tandem. Channel Level changes made via the HTR L70 are retained even if you cycle the receiver through standby.

Level settings are added/subtracted to the setup levels established by the L70 level-calibration routine, invoked by the HTR L70 “Test” key.

ADJUSTING THE TONE CONTROLS

The L70 bass and treble controls are adjusted using the front panel’s TONE button in conjunction with the

VOLUME knob; see “Front Panel,” above.

NOTE

Bass/treble settings affect only the front left/right channels, and are active in all SURROUND MODEs.

ABOUT THE 12 V TRIGGER OUT

The L70’s rear-panel 12 V TRIGGER OUT is a convenient method of controlling on and off any auxiliary equipment that is connected to or is used in conjunction with the L70, when the L70 is turned on or to standby via remote or the front panel power button.

12 V TRIGGER OUT

The L70’s rear-panel 12 V TRIGGER OUT is a female miniature 3.5 mm stereotype jack that will produce +12 V DC at approximately 50 mA. Use a 3.5 mm stereotype miniature phone plug with the centre pin + 12 V and the first band the ground. We recommend that you use a good quality cable with shield when attaching the 3.5 mm stereotype plug so as to prevent false triggering of the auxiliary equipment due to electro- magnetic interference from nearby electronic equipment. See your NAD audio specialist for more information.
