PCI-6527
To install aPCI-652 7 in any available 5 V PCI expansion slot in
your computer:
1. Turnoff and unplug your computer.
2. Removethe top cover or access port to the expansion slots.
3. Makesure there are n o lighted LEDs on your motherboard. If any are
lit, wait until theygo out before continuing your installation.
4. Removethe expansion slot cover on the back panel of the computer.
5. Groundyourself via a grounding strap or by holding a grounded object.
Followthe ESD protection precautions described in the Unpacking
sectionof Chapter 1, Getting Started with Your 6527.
6. Insert the PCI-6527 in a 5 V PCI slot. It may be a tight fit,but do not
force thedevice into place.
7. Screwthe mounting bracket of the PCI-6527 to the back panel rail of
the computer.
8. Visuallyverify the installation.
9. Replace the top coverof your compu ter.
10. Plug in and turn on your computer.
PXI-6527
To install a PXI-6527 in any available 5 V peripheral slot in your PXI
orCompactPCI chassis:
1. Turnoff and unplug your PXI or CompactPCI chassis.
2. Choosean unused PX I or CompactPCI 5 V peripheral slot.
3. Makesure there are n o lighted LEDs on your motherboard. If any are
lit, wait until theygo out before continuing your installation.
4. Removethe filler panel for the peripheral slot you have chosen.
5. Groundyourself via a grounding strap or by holding a grounded object.
Followthe ESD protection precautions described in the Unpacking
sectionof Chapter 1, Getting Started with Your 6527.
6. Insertthe PXI-6527 in the selected 5 V slot. Use the injector/ejector
handle to fully inject thedevice into place.
7. Screwthe front panel of the PXI-6527 to the front panel mounting rails
ofthe PXI or CompactPCI chassis.
8. Visuallyverify the installation.
9. Plug in and turn on the PXI or CompactPCI chassis.
