Formaximum flexibility, you can connect 8-wire stepper motors in either a
seriesor parallel configuration. Connecting the windings in series as shown
inFigure 18 producesthe most torque per amp, but has the disadvantage of
higher inductance and poorer high-speed performance.

Alternatively,you can wire 8-wire stepper motors in parallel as shown in
Figure 19. This configuration produces better high-speed performance but
requiresmore current t o produce ratedtorque.
