Chapter 3Operation

This chapter describes the non-printing operations that can be performed on the PS121v2 print

server. Those operations are:

• Reserving a multi-function printer for temporary exclusive use by one PC (Windows XP or

Windows 2000 only)

• Upgrading the print server firmware and/or SmartWizard from a Windows PC

• Reading the printer port status

• Reading and setting the network parameters

• Change the Web GUI password

Reserving a Printer for Exclusive Use by One PC

You can temporarily reserve the printer for for exclusive use by one PC when operating a multi-

function printer in a non-print mode such as scanning, copying, or faxing. This capability is only

available to PCs running a Windows XP or Windows 2000 operating system.
